If you have been the victim of a work accident, it is essential to complete an accident report the same day. If this event leads to physical problems and you wish to receive treatment for this purpose, the CNESST recommends that you see a doctor within 48-72 hours following the work accident (whether an emergency doctor or your family doctor).
The doctor must complete an initial form for the CNESST and a prescription for physiotherapy. On your side, it is important to complete the worker’s claim as soon as possible, this document is very similar to an accident report and is necessary for the opening of the file. All documents can be completed online on the CNESST online platform.
As soon as you have your physiotherapy prescription in hand, you can call the Physio-Santé clinic to make an appointment and begin your rehabilitation process without delay. Even if you have not yet authorized, the CNESST pays for the physiotherapy throughout the analysis of the file. In the event that your file is refused, it is important to know that you will not have to reimburse the costs for the physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatments received.
The CNESST also reimburses travel expenses associated with medical and rehabilitation appointments and for medication prescribed in the context of your work accident.
For any other questions about physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatments for a CNESST file, do not hesitate to contact us at the Clinique Physio-Santé at 819-573-0400.
Have you been in a car accident and want to know how to access physiotherapy treatments? Following a road accident involving a motorized vehicle (recreational vehicle, motorcycle, car, moped, which includes a cyclist or pedestrian struck by one of these vehicles) the victim is entitled to physiotherapy treatments under the referral of doctor. It is mandatory that a doctor has completed a form for the SAAQ and a prescription bearing the mention physiotherapy in order to be able to make a request.
To obtain an 8-digit claim number, go to the SAAQ website by clicking on this link.
Once you have received your claim number, you can then make an appointment at the Physio-Santé clinic. We begin treatment without delay and we deal directly with the SAAQ for authorization of the file and treatment costs.
A fee of $10 per physiotherapy treatment is charged to clients doing business with the SAAQ. We produce official receipts that can be sent to your car insurance to allow you to be reimbursed the entire amount related to your treatments. In fact, most auto insurance policies contain the FAQ 34 endorsement, which provides compensation in the event of bodily injury and reimburses the cost of paramedical care. The physiotherapist will accompany you in your rehabilitation process and can make recommendations to the attending physician or to the SAAQ for complementary treatments, for example occupational therapy, kinesiology or psychology (adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, etc). These services are all also reimbursed by the Société d’Assurance Automobile du Québec.
You should also know that the SAAQ reimburses travel costs associated with medical visits or physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatments, in addition to reimbursing medication.
For any other questions about physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatments in the context of an SAAQ file or to make an appointment, do not hesitate to contact us at the Clinique Physio-Santé at 819-573-0400.
